Higher Kinnerton Village Plan

Higher Kinnerton Village Plan

The final draft plan has been presented to the Community Council and was unanimously supported by all members. The document will shortly be presented to Flintshire County Council as “a document of importance in the development of the LDP and its relevance to Higher Kinnerton”.

An open event is being held in the Village Hall on January 12th at 10.00 – 12.00am to allow residents to view the final plan document and see a short slideshow of highlights on the development  of the plan. We do encourage ALL residents who have an interest in our village community to come along.

Throughout the process the steering group was guided by Welsh Governments’ Wellbeing of Future Generations Act which sets out how government sees Wales developing in the future and this helped develop our four themes of Environment, Community life, Community Growth and Commerce. The outcome from these themes now form the initiatives that the Community Council have agreed to adopt over the life of Flintshire’s Local Development Plan. Some of the initiatives have already been included in the Community Council’s draft budget for 2019/20.

During the Village Survey, a significant number of residents indicated they would be willing to be contacted and come forward to help in various tasks in the village. If you did put your name forward on the survey, you are invited to the January Open Event when we can discuss how you can get involved. A member of the steering group will be contacting you shortly as a reminder.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the steering group who have worked tirelessly over the last ten months in preparation of this plan. The completed document will be located on the Higher Kinnerton website in the new year for residents to read. If anyone does not have access to the internet or would just like to have a copy of the plan, then please come along to the open event or contact Liz Corner on 01244 660277 and we will print hard copies for interested residents
