School Parking & Dog Fouling

School Parking & Dog Fouling

Following a discussion with Richard Jones, headteacher at Ysgol Derwen, a meeting is to be organised at the school between the head, chair of HKCC, PCSO Peter Jones, school governor and StreetScene representatives to agree a strategy for tackling the ongoing problem of illegal and inconsiderate parking around school at the start and end of the school day.

The school is doing their best to get the message home by inviting the police into school to talk about safety and making all parents aware of the issue in the school newsletter (see extract from the November newsletter below). We hope the outcome of the meeting will be positive and lead to a series of measures both informal and formal to help limit the nuisance this problem is causing.

There has also been a rise in the number of incidents of dog fouling right outside the school entrance and children (and parents) then taking the dog mess into school on their shoes! PLEASE, all dog owners be aware of what your dog is doing and bag the dog mess and put it in the many dog bins provided around the village.
