I’ve grown up and lived in Higher Kinnerton my whole life which is longer than I want to admit to. Professionally, I’m a Civil Engineer, specialising in Highway Design within the Planning realm. I’m also an experienced Mechanic and have an interest in (landscape) photography.
I served on the Council previously for 5 years between 2015 and 2020 and have re-joined after taking a break.

I moved here from Chester in 2018, having retired at the end of 2017 as a Dispensing Optician with my own practice in Cumbria. Previous experience includes many years in the IT industry followed by a rewarding career as a landscape photographer. I am currently a Partnership Governor at Ysgol Derwen. I was chair of Governors at our local village school in Cumbria for 6 years, also helping with a number of village-based projects there, including the creation of a village play area. I am recently married, and also have two children and two growing young grandchildren.

I moved to the village with my parents in 1980 and, although I lived overseas for years, have called Kinnerton home ever since. I ran the local junior badminton club for over 10 years and more recently set up the village Coronavirus volunteer group. My husband and I are foster carers. I recently retired from Flintshire Adult Social Services.

I moved to Higher Kinnerton in October 2019 having lived in Hawarden for 20 years. After graduating from university, I ran a small business with my brother before moving into the legal sector in the NHS which I have been a part of for 7 years, in which I specialise in medical law. I hope that my skills can be of use in protecting the fantastic rural village that we live in. In my spare time I enjoy sport and film and run the community cinema in the village.

I moved to Higher Kinnerton in 2015, all the way from Buckley. I have travelled all over the world as a Merchant Navy navigating officer and can attest to the fact that there is no place like home. Having settled in Higher Kinnerton with my family, I joined the Community Council to support the wider community in any way I could, using my skills and experience from both the private and public sector. I am currently a Civil Servant serving in Central Government.

I moved to the village in 2020 from Essex with my husband and son, but I'm originally from Sydney, Australia. I'm also Chair of Little Acorns and treasurer of the Kinnerton Baby and Toddler Group. I'm a Project Manager by trade, working in foreign exchange. I love the idea of being involved in the community and feel very lucky to call Higher Kinnerton home.

I moved to Higher Kinnerton in 2021 with my partner and particularly enjoy the proximity to the countryside and the sense of community in the village. I am interested in the biodiversity and sustainable aspects of gardening and am applying these principles on my allotment plot in the village. I grew up in Flintshire but have lived in places as diverse as Wrexham, London and Japan. I spent 20 years teaching Maths, and now support maths professional development nationally. I enjoy cooking and cycling and would like to resume long distance running if my legs allow it!
