May 2023. The 2023 village Scarecrow Trail went live in early May 2023, to coincide with the Royal Coronation weekend. Indeed, the main theme of the trail was Royalty, and many of the scarecrows on display reflected the celebrations which took place over the weekend of May 6-8. A total of 22 scarecrows were on display around the village, representing hours of endeavour by all those who took part, to whom a big thank you is due. At the end of the two weeks of the trail the scarecrows were judged and the best three all received a prize.

The winning scarecrows were:

1st: Queen Lily of the Lane

2nd: Ma’am-alade Sandwich

3rd: The Hungry Caterpillar who ate the Coronation Quiche
